<p>The best of dining fanatics have opined that the New York restaurant&#39;s fine dining experience is incomplete without Korean food. In the month of October last year, a New York restaurant named Danji was the first ever Korean restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star. Bann and Hangawi have also been credited as the city&#39;s best dining creations of New York Restaurant Week. </p>
<p>New York restaurant week was initiated 1992. Since then it has had local as well as foreigner food enthusiasts who are excited to try New York City&#39;s most extravagant meals at a discounted rate. <br />
There are more than 300 restaurants who have participated in the New York restaurant week event which will be held for 20 days. The criteria taken into account for this event included factors like chef experience, media reviews, hygiene, ambience as well as superiority of food. </p>
<p>Bann and Hangawi now have the privilege of having created an identity of Koran cuisine in the New York City Restaurant. Bann is famous for the fusion-style dishes a welcoming ambience. Choi Young-sook, the owner and founder of Bann, said that &#34;It is a noteworthy achievement for Korean restaurants and people have really started acknowledging Korean restaurants fine dining business.&#34; </p>

<p>Authorities have announced drug charges against 12 people who according to them ran a drug ring out of a restaurant in New York&#39;s Queen Area. The suggested restaurant in New York is now closed. <br />
 Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says the suspects arrested in &#34;Operation Dinner Out&#34; include members of the Trinitarios, Latin Kings and Bloods gangs. These prominent gangs from Queens mainly targeted various Restaurants in New York&#39;s Queen Borough. <br />
 Brown said that the suspects primarily sold illegal drugs out of a now closed restaurant in New York called La Braza. Officers executed five search warrants at the La Braza restaurant in New York and recovered four guns, more than a kilo of cocaine; 777 glassine envelopes of heroin, two ounces of marijuana and $3,520 in cash. </p>

According to him a lot of hard work goes into restaurant business and many people fail in it because they think restaurant business is easy money. As a result many of the restaurants are not able to make it beyond a couple of years. <br />

The figures coming from genuine people of the restaurant business, the National Restaurant Association, showed the index down at 99.7, down from 100.6 in June and stands as the lowest since August 2010. One of the factors affecting the slip in the restaurant business is Standard &#38; Poor&#39;s downgrade of the US credit rating, which added some more uncertainty to an already fragile economy. The restaurant business has come under a lot of pressure in recent months due to high unemployment, expensive gasoline and a weak housing market discouraged people from eating out. The performance index takes into account the current situation as well as expectations for the next 6 months. Anything above 100 is considered expansion for the restaurant business and below 100 is considered contraction.</p>

<p>In a first of its kind initiative New York Restaurant Association has come together to adopt a proposal to cut down on their waiting time for customers. <br />
It is common knowledge that when you walk into any New York restaurant, the wait times are extremely horrible, sometimes even hours together. To put a stop to this due to the rising complaints among the customers, every New York restaurant has decided to include in its official policy to notify customers that they have two hours from arrival to evacuate the premises. <br />
Anyone still lingering over their dessert and coffee will be gently moved along or, if they refuse to budge, will be told that it is the official policy of every New York restaurant. <br />
The move has New York Restaurant clientele divided in 60-40 ratio with the majority supporting the cause. </p>

<p>In a first of its kind initiative New York Restaurant Association has come together to adopt a proposal to cut down on their waiting time for customers. <br />
It is common knowledge that when you walk into any New York restaurant, the wait times are extremely horrible, sometimes even hours together. To put a stop to this due to the rising complaints among the customers, every New York restaurant has decided to include in its official policy to notify customers that they have two hours from arrival to evacuate the premises. <br />
Anyone still lingering over their dessert and coffee will be gently moved along or, if they refuse to budge, will be told that it is the official policy of every New York restaurant. <br />
The move has New York Restaurant clientele divided in 60-40 ratio with the majority supporting the cause. </p>

<p>Prohibition-era train, which had been retired for more than 50 years, is to ride the rails once again in New York, to promote a new TV series set in the glamorous 1920s. <br />
The HBO network is paying New York&#39;s transport authority USD150, 000 to run the charming Prohibition era train along New York&#39;s 2/3 subway line during four weekends in September. The event is designed to promote the second series of Boardwalk Empire, set in 1920s Atlantic City. <br />
MTA promotions director Eugene Ribeiro said that, HBO approached the Metropolitan Transport Authority. The Metropolitan transit authority then offered the retired train that originally ran from 1917 to 1960. <br />
The subway will be decorated with pictures of Boardwalk Empire baddie Nucky Thompson, and will operate between 42nd street and 96th street in New York.</p>

<p>New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has signed into law a bill set off by the Sikh Coalition to improve religion-based protections for employees working in the metropolis. <br />
Amardeep Singh, programme director and co-founder of the community advocacy group said that this law is a key step forward in ensuring that Sikhs and other religious minorities are not unfairly ruled out from jobs for which they are otherwise qualified. The present law does not allow Sikhs to work for the New York City Police Department unless they remove their turbans. Sikh and Muslim workers who currently work for the Metropolitan Transit Authority are forced to sort their religious headwear with an MTA logo. <br />
The new law, called the &#34;Workplace Religious Freedom Act&#34;, would modify the legal standard by which courts evaluate claims of religious workplace discrimination by public and private New York City employees. <br />
While the new law does not force either the MTA or New York Police Department to acknowledge Sikhs with their full items of faith, it creates a legal structure within city law that makes it very hard to continue to prohibit them from city jobs. <br />
According to a research report issued in 2008, the group alleged one in ten Sikhs in New York City reported suffering discrimination in employment.</p>
